.NET developer

Experienced .NET developers of all levels are required at our central Bristol office.  

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate practical experience of a number of the following skills, tools and qualifications, ideally in the financial services or insurance industry:

  • Relevant degree qualification or work experience
  • VB.NET or C# 
  • Enhancing and maintaining Winforms enterprise applications
  • Building flexible and configurable Web applications
  • Designing and implementing web services to provide a service oriented architecture
  • Migration of VB6 applications to VB.NET
  • SQL Server including T-SQL and SSIS
  • Oracle including PL-SQL
  • XML/XSL
  • Understanding of OOP and design patterns
  • Test driven development
  • N-Hibernate
  • .NET 2.0 onwards
  • WPF and WCF
  • Ajax
  • Javascript

You will have experience and understanding of the full software development lifecycle with an appreciation or experience of Agile methodologies.  Exposure to requirements analysis, high level and detailed design, estimation and planning, team leading, project management, architecture, mentoring, implementing and supporting would all be highly regarded.  You should be able to confidently communicate and contribute to the development team as well as support, testing and implementation teams and senior management.

Application Support Analyst

We are looking for an Application Support Analyst in our central Bristol office to join our team providing support services to our global customer base.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate practical experience of a number of the following skills, tools and qualifications, ideally from within the financial services or insurance industry:

  • Providing 2nd/3rd level support to large complex applications covering policy sales, claims handling, case management and accounting.
  • The ability to understand the operations and requirements of our clients
  • Working with clients from problem reporting through to resolution
  • Problem diagnosis
  • MS SQL Server/Oracle script writing (essential)
  • Creation of defect records for development
  • Software testing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High level of customer focus
  • Working within an ITIL environment

Knowledge of MS SQL Server and VB applications are preferred although training will be given to the right candidates.

You will have an understanding of the full software development lifecycle with an appreciation of Agile methodologies.

Test Analyst

Experienced test analysts are required at our central Bristol office.

Ideally you will be able to demonstrate practical experience of a number of the following skills, tools and qualifications ideally in the financial services or insurance industry:

  • Relevant degree qualification or work experience
  • Use of test automation tools
  • Design and maintenance of test plans and cases
  • Technically proficient in a Windows environment
  • SQL skills using SQL Server or Oracle
  • Experience of Windows and Web application testing
  • Understanding of insurance, financial or accounting applications
  • Team leadership

You will have experience and understanding of the full software development lifecycle with an appreciation or experience of Agile methodologies.  A background in application support or software development would be well regarded.  You should be able to confidently communicate and contribute to the test team as well as support, development and implementation teams and senior management.

Implementation Consultant

Working as part of a joint Activus/client team, this client facing role involves extensive working on client sites.  Suitable candidates will have the following skills:

  • Business analysis /report writing skills
  • Experience of configuring complex software products (ERP, CRM, accounting systems etc)
  • Experience of running client workshops  - presentation skills
  • Expert status with core MS products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
  • Preferred candidates will have experience of business process redesign projects, using business process modeling software, implementing systems with an accounting or financial management component and/or insurance experience.
  • Preferred candidates will also have some experience of the traditional software requirements definition process
    • Analysis of client requirements
    • Documentation of software requirements
    • Interfacing to development team

Candidates will be based either in the Bristol, Home Counties or South East and will be comfortable with assignments involving considerable amounts of travel and/or potentially, overseas assignments.
